Sail, Camp, Sail

A few weeks ago I went CAMPING!! Not only did I go camping, but I went camping on an island .... and the only way to the island was by boat.

I know... you are jealous... I would be too...

8 sailboats & a pontoon gear boat. I was on the pontoon. We had a radio, shelter, food, drink... sailboats are cool until you can't move in one. Pontoon was the party boat.

Did I mention there were 2 kegs on ice... on the pontoon... for the camping trip?

Once on the island, I took off exploring.. destroyed my hands cause it was all hard grass... But my explorations were rewarded by finding this shot...

Amazing... I consider myself amazingly lucky.

Anyways, the island is Boca Chita, part of Biscayne national preserve. It was about a 3 hour boat ride from Coconut Grove, which where our marina is located.

Did I mention there was a lighthouse involved?

I couldn't have made this up if I tried. It was a beautiful day!

Hi Rachel,
I'm also a CAF athlete. http://www.ryanlevinson.com How can I contact you directly? There is an event that CAF-Flordia is involved in taking place on the weekend of April 25th in St. Petersburg. It's the St. Anthony's Triathlon. Might be something that interests you...

Hi Ryan,

I'm in orlando for work right now, but I'll drop you an email off your site early next week if not sooner. I'm in touch w/ florida CAF & may try to hit the April event. depends on work. funny enough, I'm not a CAF athlete. I've never submitted a grant to them. I just found the QDC & decided I wanted to do it. I know plenty of guys who have gotten CAF funds.. I'll be in touch soon.
