Time Trial?

Today the San Diego group has a time trial to evaluate their progress since training began 13 weeks ago.

So, I decided that I'd do interval work..... and that I'd sleep in today!

I'm typically a morning person, and don't mind getting up early, but it was nice to sleep in today. While it'd be nice to have training partners, one benefit of training alone is being able to set your own schedule.

I also took advantage of the extra time off the bike by writing a few thank you notes.

For my ride, I did a 45 minute warm-up & then did 30 second sprints w/5 minute rests in between, repeated 6 times. The rest periods were passive since I had the resistance on the rollers turned way up. I like intervals. I don't get nearly as hot, especially if I do a passive rest & generally I can suck it up through low blood pressure during the 'on' portion of the interval. It gets a little dicey when the interval gets into the 1 to 3 minute range, as my BP tends to drop rapidly, but its doable. The other great thing about intervals is it keeps me from getting bored.
