today's ride part 2 - miles 23-28

50 minutes to go 5 miles. 5 uncomfortable, un-fun, miles.

this training is one big mental game, one big mental challenge. It is so easy to get off the bike, decide enough is enough, decide I'm done for the day..

And truth be told, I don't want to finish the ride today. I don't want to do the remaining 29 miles. Even on the easy roller setting, that about another 2 hours.. I don't want to.

I'd rather be outside, in the sun, relaxing... not indoors, staring at a fan, thinking, counting down each tenth of a mile... It is summer in florida and I am pretty close to not tanned... I'm not pasty, but I am way paler than I'd like to be... all because my weekends are spent indoors training.

the question is, how much do I need to do today to best prepare for the ride? I did say I was going to cap my bike time @ 7 hours on the bike, so max I've got 3.5 hours left, regardless of the miles I put in. But what do those miles need to look like to best prepare....

I don't know what the miles need to be like, but it is time to get back on the bike & do a few more.. even if they are easier.
