Clif Bar Reviews

In my quest to retrain my breakfast habits, I've reverted to eating energy bars for breakfast... I've done this before in the past and it seems to do the trick.

I know, I know, not everyone likes these things. For me they are an ideal solution. I don't have to think about it, don't have to 'fix' anything, they are portable, it makes portion control easy, and hey, they satisfy my morning sweet craving... The only downside is the cost, but in the world of energy bars they are reasonably priced at ~$1 per bar if you do a little shopping. I like Clif Bars better than power bars, balance bars, or regular granola/oatmeal bars.

I also like to take Clif bars with me when I travel so I always have something to eat. Way cheaper than airport food and better for you than fast food.

As I work my way through the 19 different varieties, I'm going to offer up my thoughts on each bar. Some are winners that I'll definitely buy again, some are eh.... not so much...

Anyways, according to the Clif Bar website, there are 19 different varieties.

1. Apricot
2. Banana Nut Bread
3. Black Cherry Almond
4. Blueberry Crisp
5. Carrot Cake
6. Chocolate Almond Fudge
7. Chocolate Brownie
8. Chocolate Chip
9. Chocolate Chip Peanut Crunch
10. Cool Mint Chocolate
11. Cranberry Apple Cherry
12. Crunchy Peanut Butter
13. Iced Gingerbread
14. Maple Nut
15. Oatmeal Raisin Walnut
16. Peanut Toffee Buzz
17. Pear Apple Strudel
18. Spiced Pumpkin Pie
19. White Chocolate Macadamia

I am not a big fan of energy bars but some are very good. Have you tried camping stores or mountain climbing shops for high quality and inexpensive energy bars? Generally speaking they are less expensive and of higher quality than what one finds in a typical supermarket.
