bike pictures and UBE pictures

I took time yesterday to take a bike pic for ya'll. I pumped up the front tire & then hopped on to see how it felt.... And then I decided I needed to do 2 things 1) get the gearing down to an easier gear and 2) find an easy way to attach my hands.

Quad hands = no grip = no 'pulling' on the cranks = no movement.

Hard gear = really hard to 'push' cranks + quad hands = no movement.

Therefore we will be fixing the issues shortly. When I get my hands on an AB (AB = able-bodied = 'walkie') I'll have them hop on & give the cranks a few turns so we can throw the shifter & change gears. I tried to do this yesterday, but the 'quad' hands got in the way of actually getting a full revolution of the cranks.

Once the gearing is easier, I can just press on the outside of the cranks to cycle. Since it is on rollers & I don't need to steer or brake, this is okay. It'll work until I need to work in the harder gears, at which point the quad hand issues will return. Ya'll didn't know it wasn't as simple as 'getting' a bike. Ohhh nooo, it never is that easy or that simple. Which is why I've never pursued it before.

I also took a pic of my 'training' corner. This is where I'm putting the hours in right now...

Notice two very important things in the picture.. a fan and a radio.
The fan is always on when I train. I don't sweat and without that fan (plus a spray bottle) I overheat and cannot exercise. The radio is to prevent excessive boredom. I don't have an ipod. Never bothered to get one and don't want to invest in the music required to fill one. So radio it is. I think the radio (on the floor) is older than I am. Dad picked it up at a yard sale. It works fabulous and is all I need.
